About us

Read & Sons started the day after our second son was born.
Before that, painting was just a job - one that had dad out the door early and home late, missing bath time, bedtime, all the small moments that add up to actually knowing your kids. Watching our first boy grow up mostly in the evenings and weekends made one thing clear: something had to change before it happened again.
So we changed it. We built a business around being there - one where a school pickup or a sick day doesn't mean choosing between family and work. Our boys are still only toddlers, but that was always the point: this isn't just a painting business, it's a legacy we're building for them. One day, when they're old enough, we'd love for them to pick up a brush and join us — but for now, it means dad gets to watch them grow.
That same care goes into every home and business we work on. We're a family-owned outfit on the Gold Coast, and after 10+ years in the trade, we still treat every project like it's going in our own house — honest quotes, tidy work, and finishes we're proud to put our name on.
